☛ Description
It is a painting. Subject matter in this picture is one woman, maybe herself. Behind her is a scattered dessert and stormy sky. The lines are curvy; the shapes are organic; textures are bumpy. Dominant colors are yellow and black.

☛ Analysis
She is in front view and almost symmetrical and balanced except her skirt. Dominant colors are yellow and black, which are dull and dark. It used shading and shadows which give a sense of three dimensions. She is in the foreground, the dessert in middle and the sky in background.

☛ Technique
It is painted on canvas by oil using brushes with blended strokes. It seems that she made a plan before starting to paint. She might have looked at herself in the glass and thought how to draw.

☛ Interpretation
We rename this picture as ‘the broken heart.’ We can feel her physical and mental pains from many nails stuck into her body and her tears. Dominant colors make us feel sad and depressed. The dark yellow and black desert give us a sense of isolation and loss. But we also find the hope from white doves in her pupils. The main theme of it is about her painful life and hope. It shows her strong will to live despite her pain.

☛ Judgement
The painting isn’t representational like picture. We cannot see a column in our bodies. It is not real and abstract one. It expresses her pain, sadness and hope. (She got more than thirty times of surgeries and could not have a baby. The larger nail piercing her heart represents the emotional pain caused by Diego, her husband.) Many group of people or institution that would appreciate this painting the most because her strong will for life and positive mind show us how little woman overcome the obstacles in her life.
